Professional Development

The goal of professional development is to form the next generation of leaders and innovators within the engineering community. As an engineer, one is held to certain expectations and responsibilities that come with the profession. Theta Tau as a professional engineering fraternity aims to help prepare its brothers through guidance, experience, networking to be a part of this next gen of leaders. We host some of the following career oriented and professional development events, such as:

  • Resume Workshops

    • Our Resume workshops are a great way for our younger brothers to form and tailor their resumes under guidance and have them looked over by older brothers, alumni, and faculty.

  • LinkedIn Workshops

    • With everything going digital these days, it is important to be able to network not only in person but also online. LinkedIn provides an excellent platform for professionals to be able to share their experience and successes with possible future employers as well as network through common connections. Our workshops help set-up LinkedIn profiles for those that do not have one or to help other keep theirs up to date, professional, and concise.

  • Career & Interview Preparation

    • Around the times of the Fall and Spring Engineering and Science Career Fairs, we host a career fair prep workshop to prepare those interested in attending, providing tips and sharing the in's and out's of how to successfully and efficiently navigate a career fair, presenting yourself and talking with recruiters and interviewing tips.

    • We also host whiteboarding workshops primarily for those looking to interview for a CS position, and have multiple brothers prepping for case interviews as well

  • Panels and Tech Talks

    • We host different panels throughout the year, from Major Decision panels for our first-years in the spring, to Tech Talks, where older brothers share their experiences, advice, and stories regarding jobs and internship over summers or throughout the year.

  • ΘΤ Regional and National Conferences

    • Every semester, our chapter participates in the Atlantic Regional Conference, hosted by a participating university in the Atlantic region. These provides opportunities for brothers to network and get to know members of fellow chapters, as well as helping advance and grow the fraternity. Nationals occur once a year, and representatives are chosen and sent to represent Pi Chapter at the annual Theta Tau National Convention.

  • Alumni and Brotherhood Networking (locally and nationally)

  • Informal Events

    • We want to emphasize the willingness of all of our brothers to be of assistance professionally in whatever way they can. This can come in the form of course recommendations, getting help for a difficult topic in a class, networking among brothers, resume reviews, career prep/tips, etc.

 and so much more!
